Buckets of Rain’s Detroit Project Manager, Tony Johnson, and our Executive Director, Chris Skellenger, will be visiting the ECHO Global Research Farm in Ft. Myers, Florida to study, learn, and take part in the 25th annual worldwide conference. They will also be giving a presentation to attendees on ‘Growing vegetables in the inner city of Detroit”. ECHO is the world’s clearing house and connection point for those engaging in global food security and culturally appropriate 3rd World agricultural technologies.
A Traverse City street side tradition! Come and sing and play "This Land is Your Land" with us, over and over, and raise money for our projects in Detroit/Highland Park and Northern Michigan. All skill levels welcome in this song circle in front of Horizon Books on Front Street. Rain or Shine!
We're really excited to let you know that we've been selected to participate in the Quicken Loans Community Challenge 2018. It's a friendly fundraising campaign launched by Quicken where “Detroit’s most impactful” community organizations compete to raise the most money with the top teams winning cash donations. It’s a top tier list of charities that Quicken has identified as doing the most good for the people of Detroit- and Buckets of Rain is on it!
It runs the entire month of August and over $100,000 will be given away. We're combining the Challenge with our 6th Annual Song For Hope (Aug 16-18) to raise as much money as we can and win the $25,000 grand prize donation.
The 2017 Song for Hope Fundraiser is scheduled for August 17-20 – once again, we take over Downtown Traverse City in front of Horizon Books to play music and raise money and awareness for Buckets of Rain. This year we will feature local artists performing their music, their way. Come on down and bring your friends!
The 5th Annual fundraiser is going to be a lot different and even more fun this year! Instead of setting another world record (75 hours of “This Land is Your Land…”), we are inviting you to come on down for an hour and perform YOUR favorite music at our venue in downtown Traverse City. Please reserve your one-hour time slot here: ON-LINE SIGNUP
EVENT DETAILS: AUGUST 17-19 10:00AM-10:00PM, AUGUST 20 10:00AM-4:00PM. HORIZON BOOKS FRONT STREET ALCOVE, DOWNTOWN TRAVERSE CITY
